We know technically this isn't a romance movie but - being us - we can't help putting our two cents in on the relationship.
The Honey Brothers like to tell people they formed one dog year ago at ukulele fantasy camp, then took to the streets of New York City, serenading street people and pretzel vendors with their whimsical new-wave folk tunes. This anecdote might tell you something about the spirit in which The Honey Brothers were conceived, way back in 2001 in the wake of 9/11.
Season 5 of Entourage is Hot and Fire Sale continues to demonstrate this point.
Unlike last week's filler episode, this week was all about moving on.
Vincent Chase, our leading man, finds out that he doesn't sell anymore. Offered a role in Benji, by the end of the episode Vince not only agrees to 2nd lead in Smoke Jumpers, he also grows more than a little. This is never more evident than when he tells Eric to do what he has to in regards to his clients and their script. Season 3 Vincent would have guilted E into getting the script back for him. Season 5 Vince has learned to be humble and generous.
Jeremy Piven was calm and composed before his Emmy win for Best Supporting Actor- Comedy Series!
His Entourage co-stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara were equally cool and hot on the red carpet as well. The boys of Entourage were on hand to support Piven and Dillon, who competed in the Supporting Actor category, and to find out if Entourage would take home the Best Comedy award.
The fab event took place last night at Cinespace in Hollywood. Adrian Grenier and Rex Lee were in attendance.
As I watched the 2nd episode of Season 5 of Entourage, I had to laugh at how many famous names and faces graced this episode. As Ari, Eric and Vincent discussed the potential new projects for Vincent, the names Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg were thrown at us. Interesting that Tobey and Leo are Kevin Connolly's real life good friends, and that Mark Wahlberg appeared as himself later in the episode. What more, Kevin's other good pal Lukas Haas made an appearance later on, along with Giovanni Ribisi, as aspiring screenwriters. Did I mention this episode was only 27 minutes long?.................
After weeks of sneak peaks of the Season 5 premiere of Entourage, there was not much new to see during the actual run on HBO tonight.
It was still nice to see the boys on 32 inches rather than the small window of my laptop.
Tonight's show reminded me of a few things. Vincent Chase is very lucky to have such a loyal crew. Last season, he had almost become someone you could respect. Did he make a mistake putting so much trust in Billy Walsh? Yes. Did he still have fun whenever possible? Absolutely. But, he seemed to grow up somehow.
